On behalf of the Tweed Agricultural Society, I would like to invite and extend a warm welcome to our young people and the young at heart to Tweed’s 132rd Agricultural Fair.

Kids come and take part in the many events planned for you such as the bicycle races, pet show, and karaoke.  For the young at heart enjoy the thrilling laughter of people enjoying the rides.  Watch the children’s pride as they show and participate in 4H or horse gaming.  The excitement on their faces as they race their bikes, get their face painted or win a ribbon for a drawing.  Take time to fondly remember memories of yesterday and make some new ones.

This is our second year for the Derby Cross, watch while cars race the figure 8 with jumps and bumps.  With the interest shown from last year this years should be bigger and better.  On Saturday afternoon come and learn to Square dance , make some new friends and get some exercise with the Quinte Twirlers.  Jungle Cat World Wildlife Safari will return on Sunday, so if you missed this spectacular show last year stop by the arena where you can be educated on their Outreach program and understand the importance of promoting the survival of all wildlife.

As a nonprofit organization I would like to thank the merchants, businesses and individuals who have supported us over the years with their sponsorships.  To the exhibitors for entering crafts, baking, 4H, and horses to name a few.  This is what a country fair is all about.  A special thank you to our local Tweed Fire Department and Municipality workers for their many hours of volunteering over the weekend.

I personally would like to thank the officers, chairpersons and members of the society for the countless hours of planning the many events and activities at this years fair.  Also helping and volunteering all year long for our continued success.
